What lies ahead: Looking forward to 2025…

We’re on the cusp of a new year. This is a time of hope and expectation. It’s at this point in the year that many people start making resolutions and plans. This is one of the most difficult things for me to do as a person with a disability.

The biggest thing I have to do for myself in the new year is get myself together to publish my books. But I often don’t know what might get in the way of those plans. I could have a medical or financial setback. Something else could come up with my family.

When I made the decision to invest in myself as an author, it meant taking risks and gambling on myself. It’s a gamble that I have to have faith will pay off.

I’m fortunate to have people in my life who believe in me. They want to see me succeed, and they’re willing to help me set things up the way they need to be.

So, my biggest plan for 2025 is to get started early and make this the year I believe in me. Make the plans, put feet to my faith. Show myself that I’m worth this investment.

The next thing that comes with that is building up my team more. Finding people who are willing to stand with me in prayer as I make the moves that get me where I want to be.

Then, I put in the work, part of which I’m already doing as I dive into edits. It’s a long, arduous process that I have to take in batches because of my own fatigue, but I’m doing the best I know how.

That’s one of the biggest problems I find with resolutions. You make them, and then you have to stick to them. That’s the difficult part of it. Hopefully, the hard part will be done soon. Then all I have to do is keep up.

Finding ways around my own limitations is the next step and one more of my resolutions. It means taking time out to improve myself so that I can keep up with everything else I need to do.

That means getting my physical strength up more. Which is why I want to spend time working on my physical abilities as well. In high school I took up bodybuilding, and it helped a lot. Strength and stamina will help increase my focus.

Now I want to hear from you: Are you making resolutions for the New Year? How do you plan on keeping them?

Happy New Year, everyone. Hope 2025 brings great blessings and joy!
